The Laima confectionary shop by Orkla Confectionery & Snacks Latvija, designed in honour of the centenary of Latvian statehood and located in Old Riga at Vaļņu iela 28, has been named a winner in the competition “The Best Latvian Merchant 2018” organised by the Latvian Business Association in cooperation with the Association of Latvian Local Governments.
Diplomas for this competition are awarded to participants, laureates and winners, alongside the main prizes. This year, 32 of 240 participants qualified for the finals. Seven main prizes were awarded, 13 companies were named winners, 9 received laureate diplomas, and 3 received diplomas for their participation in the final round of competition.
On the basis of the ‘mystery shopper’ principle, evaluation took place according to several criteria: service culture, arrangement, assortment of goods, labelling of goods, order and cleanliness, information, as well as special offers. The jury consisted of company representatives – previous competition winners – and experts delegated by the Trade Institute of Latvia.
The competition is organised each year to promote the best trade and catering companies and their employees, increase the professionalism of merchants and pub keepers, as well as promote improvement of customer and visitor servicing culture.
“We are proud of the achievements of the new Laima shop! This is all thanks to the kind and attentive sellers who care for our customers each day, provide the best service, and demonstrate top knowledge of our extensive product assortment. We are happy that customers also appreciate the design solutions and arrangement of the new shop, which was designed to honour the centenary of Latvian statehood,” emphasised Lineta Mikša, Public Relations and Communication Manager of Orkla Confectionery & Snacks Latvija.
